Help Us Recognize Outstanding Local High School Student Volunteers

Do you know outstanding high school students dedicated to volunteerism? Here’s your chance to recognize them!

The United Way- Thomas Jefferson Area is accepting nominations for the United Way Student Service Awards from now until February 25, 2011 at 5:00pm. The Student Service Awards recognize students in grades 9-12 from local public and private high schools in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson Counties for their outstanding commitment to volunteerism or service learning. Nominations are accepted from school personnel, community members, nonprofit agencies, religious leaders and from the students themselves.

Last year’s recipients spanned a wide variety of interests and causes and were featured in the November 2010 issue of Albemarle Family magazine.
