Help in Reaching Out

One of the things I love about working in Charlottesville is the wonderful support the nonprofit community receives from local media. Not long after our Leadership Charlottesville team adopted our Mentor & Tutor recruitment campaign, I received a phone call from Neal Bennett, the news director of NBC29. Neal is a Leadership Charlottesville alumnus, and had just begun volunteering as a mentor himself. He encouraged me to contact the station’s promotions director, Ralph Tobias, about getting station support for our effort. Ralph was quite receptive, and we worked with Terri Warren to come up with the public service announcement that is currently running on the station. Thank you NBC29!
