A Positive Difference

I have been mentoring a Walton Middle School student since the beginning of the school year. I look forward to my weekly visits when we can be together one on one to just talk about whatever is on her mind. My week starts with my mentee and this is a wonderful way to begin the work week and to remind myself what is important in life, the relationships we make. She keeps me connected to some of the issues middle school students experience; their trials and tribulations. She feels free, at this point, to share some of her hurts and I feel honored that mentee trusts me enough to share of herself in this way. She is quite the storyteller and usually has an event to share that often ends in us laughing together. My hope is that I am able to make a positive difference in her life. I know she has in mine.
